Why do I support Blues

The city I was born in.

My first ever game

My first match was in the 70’s.  We won but couldn’t remember the team or the result.  I was too busy having a good time!

Interesting stories

After the Leyland DAF final in 1991, I got left behind at Wembley. A Scottish man was kind enough to give me his train ticket to get me back home to Birmingham.  I actually walked from Wembley Stadium all the way to Euston Station!

Special Moment (Other than Carling Cup Win)

My first time at Wembley Stadium for the 1991 Leyland DAF cup final.

Best away game experience

In 1983, the match against Southampton at the Dell.  We won 1-0 thanks to Mick Harford’s late winner.  The atmosphere was great and we had to win to stay up.

My Favourite Past Player

Trevor Francis.  Period!

Favourite Manager

Ron Saunders.

Favourite kit

Penguin Kit – a cult classic!

Interesting Experiences

All 5 of my grandchildren support the Blues and they have all been to St. Andrews with me to support the team.  I’m a very proud Grandad and will never forget them special moments.
