Maypole Lions under 11s football team – BCFC vs Bristol City

Blues 4 All attended the Bristol City game with members from the Maypole Lions under 11s football team.

Preparations started for this trip back in October and we certainly picked a nervy fixture to attend. It was an extremely cold afternoon but the 1-0 win made the day perfect.

Prior to the match, our members were able to spend some valuable time with the Maypole FC Committee and gained an interesting insight into their club history and significance to the Yardley Wood community here in Birmingham. It’s amazing how much time and effort the parent/coaching volunteers put in to the club.

Before kickoff, the Maypole Lions were welcomed by a number of BCFC supporter groups and a special meet and greet with Birmingham Ladies and England Star Melissa Lawley.

It was a privilege to watch the game with this group and hope we will be able to attend many more games together in the future.
